Ten. Twenty. Twenty-ONE

That's right, on 10.20.21, my baby turned ONE.

It has been a most eventful (and often sleepless) year as a family of four.  And yesterday was a beautiful day to reflect on it all. On the triumphs. On the trip-ups. On the fact that it's often a mess but a most blessed and perfectly imperfect mess I get to call my world!

Everett put in some serious work this first trip round the sun.  After extra well-checks and meticulous feeding plans, he moved out of the scary tiny (oh, and let's not forget 'arrived early and intensely') stage and into infancy. Then he taught us all about reflux, and I learned how to manage life and at least three loads of laundry per day. He started to smile and respond…mostly to get his sister's attention or a snack.  And sometime this summer, I looked at my baby and saw a little boy - his fantastic, full hair surely helps.  He babbles (he's got lots of Unti in him), giggles, and loves to do all the things all by himself (the extra laundry and sanitizing are totally worth it).  He especially loves snuggles and his big sister, and we all cannot get enough of him!

Happy Birthday, buddy!

First birthday. First train ride.

Happy birthday, Everett. We love you beyond measure!

Very best buddies!
