Thanksgiving Weekend

Image
We certainly love to travel and know that we are blessed to have had so much time to do so.  Now that Brian has taken a new job, we may not have quite as much time as in the past and we want to continue to pack in as much as possible with the time off we do have.  Thus, we took advantage of Brian's time between jobs and my time away from school and headed to Chattanooga, TN for Thanksgiving weekend.  We made an afternoon stop in town a few years back on our way home from Alabama, and I really loved downtown Chattanooga, and I was excited to spend more time there.    Our visit exceeded my expectations and it seems I’ve finally convinced Brian of my long-held belief that we should be living in a college town, though I always vote for Madison and he rather prefers Boulder, CO. Thursday: We arrived in Chattanooga the evening before and were able to get plenty of rest before starting our first day of climbing adventures.  We went climbing at a really fun area called Stone Fort (formerl

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!   I know I have so much to be thankful for - family, friends, health and so much happiness in my life!  Brian and I decided to leave town for the extended weekend and travel to Chattanooga, TN.  We are going to rock climb, sight see and visit the aquarium!   I'm very excited for another Runnells adventure, but I sure am missing my family today.  Have a wonderful holiday, all.  Next year, we better make extra potatoes and green bean casserole.  I"ll be back and I'll be making up for this year :)

The Week in Review

This past week, while I was husband-less, I kept myself quite busy.  Sunday, I spent the day with my pal Melissa.  We went climbing and then out to lunch.  After that, I hung out at casa de Nimmer and caught up with one of my favorite families.  Monday evening, I was invited on another date, this time with my friend Amanda.  We had dinner and a drink and filled each other in on the details of our lives and school years.  On both Tuesday and Thursday, I had dates with some of my favorite gym buddies.  I also had a dinner date with my parents one evening.   It was really nice to see the both of them; it just doesn't happen often enough and I hate that!   Friday and Saturday were also really fun. On Friday, I joined some of my Bradford buddies at Camp Randall to cheer on the Bradford football team in the State Championship game.  It was an exciting game; we were all so happy for the boys to have achieved such a great accomplishment - making it to State after having come so close the

Shopping Saturday

Let me begin by apologizing for a lack of pictures in this post - I guess I was too busy with my retail therapy... ...anyhow, Saturday I joined Mom, Auntie Bunnie, Auntie Lynn, cousin Jenna and Grandma for a day of shopping in Chicago. The Waukesha Park and Rec puts together a bus trip each year, and unlike last year when I was in a cast, this year I could attend. It was an early morning - I had to drive 35 minutes to get to Waukesha by 7:10 only to catch the bus and drive back in the direction of my house on the way to Chi-city. The early morning and the extra driving were definitely worth it - I had a great day, one that was really needed after my ray week! The bus ride was uneventful, but it gave me a chance to catch up with my cousin. She has always been a person I adore and admire, and I love hearing stories about her little guy, Kaiden. Once we arrived in Chicago, we got right to it and the day was packed with all sorts of fun. We all made some good purchases and enjoyed cat

Football and Campfires

I realize that my posts as of late have mostly involved talk of football games and all-too-short weekends.  This post will be no different as my life in the fall boils down to the Badgers and climbing trips. On Saturday, we were double booked.  Aside from the Badger game, we also had an invitation to a must-attend event at the Nelesen household.  Dawn and Chris are some of our favorite people and when we heard they would be having a pudgy pie party, we knew we had to be there; besides, it was also a bit of a surprise birthday gathering for Chris, and would couldn't miss that. Being that we had to make our way from Madison to the party, we knew we had to choose just the right people to invite to the game - we decided to ask our buddies Andrew and Melissa, whom we have known since they were little kiddos we coached on the climbing team.  Now they're Juniors and are thinking about college -where did the time go? We picked up Andrew and Melissa and drove up to Madison.  I bru
