Party Boat

Last weekend, Brian and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary.  It was impossible to top what we did for year five, a trip to ITALY, but we have gotten really good at making the most of all of our adventures, big and small, and this weekend was no exception.

Friday
I drove Brian to work bright and early at 6:30 am and picked him up after work so we could head north ASAP.  We were in Lac du Flambeau by 8:30 pm, after far too long in the car with air conditioning that wasn't quite working properly.  A storm had rolled in as we arrived, but Mom Sue was ready and greeted us in the driveway with a giant umbrella.   Also waiting in LdF were Papa Bill, sister Becky and our fur-niece, Rosie.  We spent a good few hours chatting and testing out new beverages.

Saturday
The weather was absolutely perfect.  As is typical of our Saturdays up north, we got up and had breakfast, put on our swimsuits, hopped on the boat, fished and swam, came back for lunch and some relaxing, reloaded the boat with noodles, rafts and beverages, went for another round of fishing and swimming and then returned for dinner. Auntie Barb, Uncle John, Curtis and KJ joined us for dinner.  We sat by the fire for a bit, played a few games and spent some time on what I like to call the 'party boat', (I tend to come up with little names for just about everyone and everything, I've noticed) and party on the boat we did.

Sunday
We spent a bit of time on the lake in the morning before heading home.  We stopped at What's the Scoop for ice cream on our way out of town (a little dessert before dinner).  Once home, we went to dinner at di Carlo's, a local Italian eatery - it was almost like last year's anniversary, except there was no view of the canals of Venice.

Happy 6th, Hubbers!

It was a great weekend, and I cannot wait to be back up north later this month.  It will be especially fun, if all the cousins who will be there can gather together for time on the party boat :)
